My work is shaped by two disciplines: journalism and lived experience.
Journalism taught me to listen before reacting. To notice nuance, tension, rhythm between words and breath. I also live with hearing loss, a disability that has reshaped how I attend to the world.
Because I cannot rely on sound alone, I rely on observation. I read rooms carefully. I notice breath, the curve of bodies in movement, and silence. What others overlook, I see. The hand tightening before vows, nervousness weeping into euphoria.
The glance that steadies, anchored in adoration. The stillness beneath celebration, that silence I already live.
I do not manufacture moments to pull strings.

I am Katie. A storyteller first, photographer second.
Weddings are one of the most profound stories I am entrusted to witness.
Alongside photography, I am completing a Master of Communication in Journalism. Journalism taught me to listen—not just to words, but to rhythm, nuance, and what sits beneath the surface of a moment.
I also live with hearing loss.
It has reshaped how I move through the world.
I rely on observation. I read rooms carefully. I notice shifting light, the tightening of hands before vows, the breath held just before emotion breaks. I see what changes before it is spoken.
